Joey is from the historic Northern Neck of Virginia. He began his broadcasting career in 1984. Joey moved to S.W. Va. in October of 1994 and loves the Roanoke Valley. An avid News / Sports fan, Joey is the host of the "Roanoke Valley's Morning News" on sister station WFIR from 5-9 AM and has been for 10 years. When it comes to sports, his favorite teams are the Hokies, Redskins, Cardinals and Spurs. NASCAR is his all-time favorite with Tony Stewart being his favorite driver. Joey is also involved in motorsports. He's been a track announcer at Virginia Raceway in Saluda, VA. and Motor Mile Speedway in Radford, VA. and currently does track announcing for NASCAR racing at Martinsville Speedway and Richmond International Raceway. Joey also did track announcing at Daytona International Speedway during "Speedweeks" 2012 in February, including the Daytona 500. Joey is married to Sue, a New Jersey native and Radford University graduate. They've been married for 16 years and have 2 beautiful daughters. Maggie, 15, who plays basketball at William Byrd High School in Vinton, VA. and Montgomery Leigh, 6, who is sure to follow in Maggie's footsteps! Joey's favorite music is the 80's and Country, Hobbies include history, landscaping and weekend time with family and friend's.
